Flora 2023 Installation at the contemporary art festival Expedition DOM, curated by Marianna Brinzová and Martina Ivičič.
"FLORA" took place at the DOM contemporary art festival in the Prüger garden - creating a common environment, through unfired bricks in which there is space for planting plants is a symbolic reference to transplanting the roots, those of our people... By effort is to create a space for shared play, small interaction, but also bridging the past with the presence that this place fills in itself. The plants planted in them are a manifestation certain fragility. Just like their roots, often transplanted, embedded in the space that is theirs it separates from the original land... Bricks connect them, but at the same time separate them. Plants planted visitors in their spatial temporality. The gift of a plant and its placement in a temporary of the clay brick space is a symbol of our constant self-assertion not only from place to place, but also from a number of thoughts or ideas into a world of new visions and discoveries.

Exhibition of the painting series including some of the author's works from previous years touches on the issue of the content of physicality, connected to the world of vegetation, as living element. The connection and rendering of the sensitivity of natural flora with the metaphor of the body has a history a rich representation in the history of art and also through the contemporary language of metaphors we can perceive fragility and transience in the received form. As the name suggests the central idea deals with organic structures, their indications, often even by abstracted or dissected traces, which in some moments are up to anatomically rendered and by connecting them to the organic concrete structures of the world vegetation, or a gently accentuating landscape element, the author encourages us to closer awareness of the symbiosis between man and "forest or organic organism".

Kontemplácia dychu
Kontemplácia dychu 2020-2021
Contemplation of breath 2020-2021
In the current painting cycle, Simona Vojtečková thematically and formally follows the watercolor series of dreamscapes, which she transforms (enlarges in format and deepens narratively) into an ephemeral environment of a "forest bath" of natural environments depicted in paintings. Large-format paintings, a contemplative environment of silence and natural phenomena reflect, investigate, but also question. The set of paintings goes from landscape paintings with realistic details to surrealist documentation and records to abstract fragments and still lifes. Thematically, in the exhibition project Contemplation of Breath, Vojtečková continues to explore and emphasize the importance of silence and the deepening of one's own thinking, silence, peace in a constantly changing (non)urban space.
The influence of silence on the feeling of timelessness so profoundly manifested in the time of common/societal slowdown (silencing) during the pandemic - remains an important aspect of the author's current painting cycle. Forests and metamorphoses of the natural environment have become a temple of rest and a space for "filling the breath". Man, from the top of the pyramid of creation, is integrated into the wilderness environment as a part of the whole due to the coming changes.
In her work, the author works programmatically with the investigation of the contemplative, harmonizing nature of natural elements and phenomena. It deals with the banality and imperceptibility of (some) natural elements and phenomena, their emotional effect, but also the socio-political aspects of their invisibility. He examines the relationships between air, rarity, commodity with a truly critical but especially very sensitive eye. In the focused, meditative silence of his paintings, he points to a way of depicting a pure existence that lives in its own space of apparent simplicity.
Simona Vojtečková (*1987) is a graduate of VŠVU (Studio of free textile creation, Studio of spatial communication). The project was supported by the Art Support Fund in the form of a scholarship

The exhibited works are connected by formal and meaningful layering, the use of transparent materials and working with ephemeral elements such as light, shadow, or air and its movement. Works at first glance they seem simple and mysterious, but each in its own way allows the viewer refrain from examining it in more detail. With the series of "röngen" drawings Ecce Vita Botanical we are stopped by the examination of the small drawing and its reflections, with the object Feeling again subtle, almost invisible typographic reference. The hidden site-specific installation Close poetically reminds us of what we have forgotten nooks and crannies, the endless scroll at the beginning of the exhibition silently longs for grip, the photographic cycle On the contrary tells a veiled story. Metafora lights up in the next room - an installation that cycles similarities and repetitions he celebrates and exposes to admiration.

PARALELA
PARALELA 2014
Paralel 2014
In the work PARALLEL, I work with a randomly found dried tree. Support rods made of metallic material are embedded between its branches. I insert a clear material into the resulting space between them. My intention is to draw attention to the richness of its internal fragmented structure. I try to elevate a naturally neglected space with a small to invisible gesture. There is an effort to create exposure by framing, underlining a clear fact.
At the same time, there is a real reflection and meeting of past, lived, and projected living reality on the surface of the translucent shiny material. Paradoxically, through division, there is a fusion of separate realities, which are still one, they are PARALLEL.
METAFORA
METAFORA 2014 Inštalácia v priestore, fotoprojekcia, 3D objekt, 60x 13x 87 cm, MDF, sklo, akrylátová farba
Metaphor 2014 Installation in space, 3D object, 60 x 13 x 87cm, MDF, glass, acrylic paint
The work has several layers. The projection of the image on a hermetically sealed display case refers to an all-too-close reality that faces the constant compression of our environment to a lower and lower level and faces the constant pressure, compression, shortening of space...
In Metaphor, there is also a certain paradoxical exaggeration, subtle irony, space within space...
The bulletin board itself, which I discovered in the space of the natural environment with the title AIR, seemed like a forgotten artifact" in time. Additionally, the rendering of the photo and the connection of the completed object with the photo projection is already a certain doubling of the meaning within the meaning.
At the same time, something as ephemeral as air is transformed into a "necessity", an indispensable component of being, in view of the passed periods, which we as a society face not only post. Often, paradoxically, it was the closed and separated spaces that made it possible.

Some things are visible only when one finds oneself in them. He begins to perceive things differently, the OPPOSITE, in their essence and fragility.
I started too.

Id
Id 2013 Inštalácia v priestore, slama, bavlna, kliny
Id 2013 Installation in space, straw, cotton, wedges
The Id installation is an oxymoron in its essence of the material used.. The ladder, which should be a support, a means of reaching something, getting closer to something, something that should be solid and stable, is an absolutely impossible object, rendered in its own subtlety, by the use of the selected material.
According to Freudian psychology, the id is an unconscious means to achieve desire, pleasure and comfort, but in any case it is enough to take a step and it is questionable how the given step will turn out.

Transitional places 2013 Inštalácia v priestore, installation in space, foil, mirrror, photo 3pcs, 420 x 594 mm
In Ústi nad Labem, I accidentally found an industrial building with multi-layered symbolism. Ready made is from one point of view a house, from another a storage space - a transitory place for things. A closed house on one side, an open space on the other, like a temporary place. Home, as the place where a person grew up, later passes through a transition, a temporary storage space and the next home.
The used reflection of the mirror in the background of the photo is a symbol of individual experience. The photo merges with the human gaze. A projection of one's own reality is created. The work has many interpretations and views... It is a cycle, a cycle that is natural to us.

In the work Väzba, I point out the connection of two characters from the initial connection to the time when each of them goes in its own direction, but they remain connected by a mutual bond. The basis of the work is a photograph from childhood. The marks on it, by their placement and crossing, remind me of the weaving of lace. Just as the lace is formed, it goes somewhere, it strengthens and creates SELF, itself, with the help of BINDING. My mother led me to textiles and handicrafts in my childhood. So I materialized our bond and connection through textile material. In the last part, the traces are embroidered by my hand and the hand of my parent.
